Wondering around Edinburgh can make you pretty hungry. After much deliberation Amber (my girlfriend) thought of a place and led me to
Oink in Victoria Street and it was just what we needed, totally hit the spot.
Oink have a small shop that serves all sorts of people, tourists, shopper, students, local workers and residents a sure sign that it'd be good. It literally has a roast pig just sitting in the window, a tad gruesome. Oink was set up by two farmers from the Scottish Borders meaning that the quality of the pulled pork is sheer excellence. They can also be hired out for events which would definately make any party.
You get a choice of size, roll and topping. I went for a white roll layered with onion and BBQ sauce, Amber went for haggis and chilli relish. I'm a sucker for all things meaty and this has gone right to the top of my favourites. At £3.60, this really is the best sandwich in Edinburgh.
